• Harness: should sit well, the dog is fitted with the harness just before the start of the search and the harness is removed after the search again. If the dog wears a harness for other activities, a neckerchief or similar is to be worn by the dog only during trailing activities.
• Leash: should be about 7 – 8 meters long. These are available in different materials, leashes made from Biothane or leather have proven themselves.
• Reward: as a reward e.g. wet food and / or toys. Dry food or treats are not suitable for search work.
• Water: After the search, it is important to offer the dog water. In summer, this may also be necessary during the trail.
