In addition to these pure training workshops, our trainer course includes other important components:
- In regular, exclusive Train the Trainer sessions, your experience is built with your own dog and in turn your own personal experience in both mantrailing and pettrailing.
- Through additional observation (shadowing) alongside certified trainers at training sessions, events and assessments, the prospective trainer is taught organisational skills and learns a lot about the way we teach our style of trailing.
If you are interested in our training, we will be happy to provide you with comprehensive information about our concept, the training path and the opportunities to work as a trainer in this area.
* All training workshops usually start at 10:00am
The opportunities to shadow current trainers and take part in trainer training sessions can be arranged individually. These are included in your course fees.
If you are interested in joining our next trainer course (starting 24th March 2022), please contact us in good time. Simply visit us at one of our training sessions/events or contact us by social media, phone or email.
In our network (Germany-Austria-Switzerland, UK, Slovenia) we offer in-depth and professional training to become a Pettrail / Mantrailing trainer. Our newly developed training concepts are based on the latest scientific knowledge.
The training includes a well thought out and well structured mix of meaningful blocks of both theoretical and practical learning content.Â
Workshop 1 (WS1) location will be held in Greater Manchester with the other in-person practical workshop locations being agreed in consultation with all course participants during WS1.Â

Questions and answers:
What does it cost to become a trainer?
You pay a one-time registration fee of ÂŁ600.00 due by TBC, followed by 10 x monthly tuition fees of ÂŁ240 due over the duration of the course (dates TBC). Total course cost is ÂŁ3000. The multi-day final exam with certification is included.Â
What additional costs are incurred during the trainer course?
None! There are no other hidden costs or paid additional workshops to become a trainer. Cost transparency is very important to us! ATTENTION: Your own travel expenses, accommodation, food and other associated costs outside of the course fees (parking etc.) must be paid in addition.
How often will you be working with your own dog?
In addition to the practical workshops as part of the trainer course, we offer participation in our exclusive trainer training sessions. There are no additional costs for these sessions, they are also included in the course fees.
*this course is for you to become a trainer to teach others, you will get to practice with your own dog to progress your own handler skills to compliment your skills as a trainer – your own education as a handler with your own dog including training and assessments is not included within this course. Qualifying as a Professional Pettrailing search team with your own dog takes much longer than the duration of the trainer course.
Is it possible to book the training workshops individually?
No. The workshops are coordinated both in terms of content and teaching and, in our opinion, only make sense taught as a complete course.
When can I start with my own customers?
Unfortunately, there is no simple answer. The practical work with your own customers is an important element of the training. The trainee trainers are taught to the highest standard to prepare them to start their own groups well before the completion of the course. It is up to the individual to decide when they are ready to teach after the completion of Workshop 3.
Do I have any contractual obligations after the training?
Definitely not! With us, the course is separate from financial obligations, or re-certifications, as that are common in franchise systems. Later participation in our network, e.g. as a certified trainer, is optional.
If you are interested in working in collaboration with PetTrailer UK, this can be discussed on an individual basis.Â
Are there different trainer training levels?
Not with us! We consciously decided not to have different levels of trainers, which can only be progressed with additional paid courses. With the completion of our trainer course, a trainer taught by us has been given the sufficient skills and qualifications to teach mantrailing and pettrailing, in the area of leisure & employment with teams of all levels.
What happens if I miss individual workshops due to e.g. illness?
For any training hours that are missed depending on content we will endeavor to compensate in the following workshops or by directed individual study. In principal, the training and final assessment can extend beyond the planned year. Missed workshops can simply be made up for in one of the following trainer courses.
Will the tuition fees continue if I extend the duration if the course?
No. The tuition fees run exactly for 10 months, after which the monthly payment obligation ends. Missed training workshops can be made up for at a later date free of charge.
